European vs American Roulette
I don’t know about you guys, but back in the days before we had online casinos, there were a couple of casino games that I simply didn’t have the nerve to play. My friends and I would make regular trips to our local land-based casino, and I was always tempted to try my hand at baccarat and roulette, but there was an intimidation factor for me that I couldn’t overcome.
That all changed when Platinum Play came online, and I was able to play them both in the comfort of my own home, free from the fear that I would do something incredibly stupid at the table. I quickly grew a real love for roulette, but was surprised to learn that there is actually more than one version.
If you log in to have a spin of the wheel at Platinum Play Online Casino, you will see that it offers both American and European Roulette. This doesn’t mean that you have to go change your citizenship to play one or the other! It simply means that there are two different versions of the game, and the differences are actually quite subtle.
The American version has an extra pocket that houses the double zero as well as a pocket for the traditional single zero. This alters the betting a little, and also means that the odds of winning are tilted slightly in the favour of the European version of roulette.
The betting layout on the table remains virtually the same in both games, so if you are familiar with one version, then playing the other really shouldn’t be that big a stretch.
I usually alternate between both, and really don’t find any major differences in how the game is played. Both are incredibly exciting games, and of course, you can play them both if you register with Platinum Play casino.
