For most of us food is something that comes pre-packaged in containers with handy tips on nutrition and weight management. We are the lucky ones; in 2018, statistics show that 820 million people are suffering from chronic undernourishment from a lack of food. This is the reality of our time and something the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations aims to change.
Established in 1945, the FAO is committed to creating a world where zero hunger is possible. In celebration of the founding of the organisation, World Food Day is celebrated around the globe on the 16th of October each year.
