There is no question that musical performers earn an enormous amount of money touring, and that sometimes, the tickets to see them cost the equivalent of a jackpot win from playing online casino games! But, these performers are known to put on a really good show, and seeing your idol in the flesh, belting out their hits is worth its weight in gold.
Let’s take a look at the performers who are in the top 10, what they earn per tour, and what it costs to see them in action:
Timberlake has successfully shed his cheesy N’SYNC boy band persona and is now recognised as one of the biggest names in the music industry. He earns an average of about $3.2 million per live performance, which is certainly no small chunk of change. This works out to an average of about $140 for a ticket, and fans across the globe happily shell this out to see the man who bought sexy back…
Not far behind Timberlake is Pink, who is likewise known for delivering outstanding performances on stage. Alecia Beth Moore started out her career in a group called Choice back in 1995, but was offered a solo contract soon after. She earns an average of about $2.3 million per show, but also asks slightly less for tickets at about $134. Considering she often incorporates gravity defying stunts into her performances, fans certainly get their money’s worth.
Coming in unexpectedly at number 3 is Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen kicked of an historic one man show titled Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York. Given that the show is performed 5 nights a week, it’s incredible to think that around $2,1 million is earned for each show. Of course ticket prices are not at all cheap, with an average of around $508 asked per guest.
Latin-American superstar Luis Miguel comes in at number 4. Often referred to as El Sol de Mexico, or The Sun of Mexico, Miguel is renowned for his lively, spirited performances. He earns an average of about $1.6 million per show, and asks a comparatively modest $97 for tickets.
Rapper, songwriter and producer Kendrick Lamar is number 5 on the list. Referred to as the defining Hip Hop artist of a generation, Lamar earns about $1.4 million per show. Average ticket prices are $88, and are surprisingly among the cheapest on this list.
Originally formed in 1983, Bon Jovi is still going strong and performing live for thousands of fans. And yes, the shows are still as rocking today as they were back in the 80s. This legendary band earns a stunning $1.3 million per show, with fans still willing to part with $97 to see them perform live.
American singer, actor, songwriter and producer Anthony Santos comes in 7th. More commonly known by the stage name Romeo Santos, this multitalented performer takes about $1.3 million per show. Tickets to see him in person are just under $100.
American country singer and television personality Blake Shelton comes in at number 8. His debut album in 2001 started him on the road to mega-stardom, now earning an average of just under $1 million per show, with ticket prices at about $78. Not bad for a country crooner boy-next-door.
One Direction star and now-solo artist Harry Styles is in at 9th. This English singer and songwriter may have got his start as a member of a boy band, but now earns around $901,000 per show touring with his band White Eskimo. Ticket prices are $75 to see the X Factor alumni in the flesh.
Demi Lovato bizarrely started out her career as a child actor on Barney and Friends. But today, this singer and songwriter earns just under $900,000 per show, with ticket prices averaging $75. Lovato has become hugely popular with the teen and pre-teen demographic, and her battle to remain body positive also seems to add to her star power, as did her stint on X Factor as a judge.
